About Me

Hey there! My name is Garrett Bass, and I love stories. In fact, I think that my love for stories is one of the many things that makes being a therapist so fulfilling for me. I have always enjoyed learning from others and hearing about their experiences, as well as celebrating the uniqueness that each person’s story holds! When I’m not learning from those around me, I’m usually learning from a movie, television show, book, or piece of music. I also thoroughly enjoy hanging out with my wife and our incredibly goofy dog, Walter.

I practice mental health counseling in Birmingham, AL. I earned my BA in Psychology from Samford University and my MA in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I’ve worked with individuals with eating disorders and other co-occurring mental health concerns since 2018. I use a person-centered approach in therapy, which focuses on empathy and the individual’s ability to strive for growth.
